The SSP Yucatán led the arrest of “El Gemelo” accused of extortion and qualified homicide in Quintana Roo.
Accused of high-impact crimes such as extortion and qualified homicide, committed in the state of Quintana Roo, Uriel Alonzo P. K., alias “El Gemelo”, 35 years old, was arrested in Yucatán, on Thursday, January 9th.
The arrest was carried out by investigative agents of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) and ministerial agents of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) in collaboration with similar authorities in Quintana Roo.
This subject is related to a criminal group that operates in that state and faces complaints from merchants and tourist service providers in Playa Mujeres, Cancun, for extortion, intimidation, and injuries.
Among the complainants are masseurs, tour guides, and street vendors who are required to pay between six and nine thousand pesos a week, which must be deposited in different bank accounts.
Uriel Alonzo P. K. is also charged with aggravated homicide and attempted aggravated homicide in Quintana Roo. The detainee is originally from Mérida, Yucatán, and sells cars by trade.
