The Umán city council headed by Kenia Walldina Sauri is being harshly criticized on social networks after its controversial proposal to eliminate the breeding of backyard birds and wildlife in the municipal seat.
According to an official announcement, it indicates that the Umán City Council, through the ecology department, prohibits the possession of backyard animals and wild fauna in urban areas, thus reinforcing actions to protect health and environmental balance.
The document indicates that you avoid sanctions and comply with the regulations. The city council threatened the community with sanctions and fines and invited citizens to report people who have these animals.
A couple of hours were enough to cause the annoyance and ridicule of the users of a Facebook post from the Umán City Council.
Because the type of sanctions was not specified and who would be in charge of visiting and applying the fines, this caused controversies for and against, since there are people who raise these animals for self-consumption and to help with the family economy, something very common in the rural area of Yucatán.
Complaints from Internet users demanding repairs to the streets with potholes and greater security, among other needs, caused the publication to be deleted.
