The body was inside a property in Ciudad Caucel’s Los Almendros subdivision.
The body of a woman was found lifeless in the Los Almendros neighborhood in Ciudad Caucel, Mérida., so the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of Yucatán in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) activated the femicide protocol, this after receiving the report to the 9-1-1 emergency line.
Later, upon arriving at the scene, the State Investigation Police (PEI) and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed that the body, without vital signs, was hanging from the neck, tied to the bars of the property’s window. The Forensic Medical Service transferred the body to the FGE, where the corresponding examinations will be carried out.
The agencies urged citizens to contact the emergency lines 9-1-1 or 089 in the event of any suspicious findings or activity.
“We thank the community for its constant support and collaboration in situations that allow the authorities to take quick and effective action. Likewise, we recognize the joint effort of the State Investigation Police (PEI) and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) in handling this case,” the FGE said in a statement.
