On Friday, January 31, a man known as the “Renegade” was executed in the Quinta Hermosa subdivision of Campeche. The victim, identified as Jaime L.O., 55 years old, was killed by two motorcyclists who were presumably hitmen.
The “Renegade” received eight shots while driving his car. State authorities, ministerial authorities, and armed forces took notice of the incident. Jaime had been arrested in 2009 for organized crime and kidnapping, crimes for which he spent 18 years in prison. He was part of the criminal group Los Zetas and had previously kidnapped businessman Joaquín S.S.G., who was rescued that same year.
Following the execution, an abandoned motorcycle was found on CTM Avenue. The Mexico platform reported that the motorcycle had been stolen. Authorities are investigating the incident to bring those responsible to justice.
