Argentine tourist Luis Oppenheimer said that he and his family have been affected by this situation for two days.
A case of mass poisoning was reported at the Sandos Playacar Hotel, located in the tourist area of Playacar 2, in Playa del Carmen, municipality of Solidaridad, Quintana Roo.
According to the report, more than 300 guests, including several people of Argentine origin, have symptoms of poisoning, such as diarrhea and vomiting, after consuming drinks inside the hotel.
This statement was made by Luis Oppenheimer, a tourist from Argentina, who along with his family has been affected by this situation for two days. Oppenheimer said that, after drinking something provided by the hotel, he and his family began to feel ill.
He says that the situation is similar for more than 300 people who are in the same condition. However, according to the informant, the hotel has not taken responsibility for the events and the on-site doctor recommended that they avoid consuming any drinks that were given to them in a glass.
The complainant added that, although the affected guests have symptoms of poisoning, no other client has made an official report, since many are unaware of the procedure to do so.
Given this situation, the local authorities were alerted about the possible outbreak of poisoning at the hotel, but the origin of the products that caused the symptoms has not yet been confirmed. So far, the authorities have not issued any statement on the matter. For its part, the lodging center has not made or shared any type of statement. either
