This Wednesday, February 5, the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) announced the arrest of two people who entered a high school located in the center of Mérida without authorization.
The director of the “Gonzalo Manzanero López” high school, on 62nd Street, near La Ermita de Santa Isabel, reported the presence of two unidentified young men wearing school uniforms.
When the police intercepted them, they identified themselves as K.A.M.P., 15 years old, and M.R.V.C., 22 years old. Both stated that they took the uniforms of two young students to enter the school without permission.
The authorities detained both and will remain at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). A teacher from the school published on social networks that the case occurred on Tuesday the 4th. He mentioned that the men had allegedly disguised themselves as students to attack one of the students. He also announced that a student involved in the incident was expelled.
The agency urged families to supervise and safeguard their children’s school uniforms, preventing them from falling into the hands of people outside the educational institutions. The state police recognized the timely attention of educational personnel and the joint work of the authorities to preserve security in school spaces.
