The Secretary of the Navy through the Mexican Navy, acting as the Coast Guard, through the Ninth Naval Zone, reports that it continues with the fight against illegal fishing and the predation of closed species, dismantling an alleged clandestine kitchen in Dzilam de Bravo, Yucatán.

This action was carried out during a maritime and land surveillance tour in the vicinity of Dzilam de Bravo, where naval personnel sighted unusual artifacts on the beach, when carrying out the inspection, they detected an abandoned clandestine kitchen commonly known as a “sancochadero”; where three buckets and approximately 120 kg of grain salt were seized, which were dissolved in the sea.

It should be noted that Naval personnel will make the insured material available to the corresponding authority and will continue to carry out this type of operation to preserve marine fauna and protect the interests of the fishing community against illegal fishing.
