After a quick investigation, agents of the State Investigation Police (PEI) located the Mérida taxi in which an elderly man forgot his briefcase with 20 thousand pesos in cash.
Agents of the cyber unit of the PEI saw the posts online on which the man was asking for help to find a suitcase that he forgot when he got out of a taxi cab in Merida.
The investigative police of the SSP with the video surveillance cameras of the C5i Control Center found the location of the taxi and interviewed the driver.
Initially, he denied that the passenger had left a briefcase; however, when questioned by the agents, he acknowledged that he did take it and that he had spent part of the 20 thousand pesos.
The taxi driver was left in the custody of the police; the affected person was given the recovered amount and will file the corresponding complaint so that the police and ministerial authorities can continue with the investigations.
