The state government and the Mérida City Council are working closely to position the Yucatecan capital as a national and world tourist destination. In the coming months, the state capital will attend international tourism forums in Colombia and London. This sector is expected to perform better in 2025 than last year.

“We are going to participate in the Mexican Tourism Tianguis 2025, we are going to participate later in Bogotá, in March, in an important tourism fair called Anato, then in London,” commented Armando Casares, Technical Secretary of the Tourism Unit of the Mérida City Council.

This week an agreement was signed between the Miguel Hidalgo mayor’s office in Mexico City and the Mérida City Council, which seeks to promote the state capital as a tourist destination in this area of the Mexican capital, by displaying the cultural attractions of Mérida. The event brought together 120 professionals and experts in the tourism sector and promoted 15 local hotels in the Yucatecan capital.

Part of this promotion of the Yucatecan capital is publicizing events of tourist importance, such as the Day of the Dead parade and the White Night, as well as various races, marathons, and cultural events that keep the White City busy.
