In the afternoon of Wednesday, February 26, the skeletal remains of a person were found inside a property in downtown Mérida.
The remains were in the bathroom of the house located on 67th Street (between 32 and 34). in the center of Mérida.
According to the information obtained, the neighbors knew that a person of Canadian origin lived there, whom they had stopped seeing for two years, pointing out that they believed he had gone to his country.
Today, it was found out, that people or relatives of the Canadian came to visit him and entered the house, but they found the skeletal remains in the bathroom. They immediately called 9-1-1 and reported the situation. The police came to check and secure the house.
The Public Ministry also went to the scene and carried out the corresponding procedures. Finally, personnel from the Institute of Forensic Sciences were in charge of removing the remains to determine the causes of death.
