SISAL, Yucatán.— The usual tranquility of Sisal was interrupted on Friday, Februeary 14th, when a group of fishermen found the lifeless body of a man, approximately 35 years old.
The discovery occurred while the maritime workers were preparing to begin their workday.
According to testimonies, the body was hanging from the neck with a rope, attached to one of the trees ib site. Immediately, the fishermen notified the local authorities, who went to the place to deal with the situation.
Agents of the Municipal Police cordoned off the area and informed the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), which was in charge of the corresponding proceedings and the removal of the body. During the preliminary inspection, no documents were found that would allow the victim to be identified.
According to authorities, the man was wearing simple clothing and showed no visible signs of violence, beyond the marks caused by the rope around his neck. So far, the circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown, and no line of investigation has been ruled out.

The port, known for its fishing activity and peaceful atmosphere, was shocked by the incident. Neighbors and fishermen expressed their surprise, as they said they did not recognize the deceased as someone from the town.
The FGE will continue with the investigations to determine the causes of death and identify the man, while citizens are urged to provide any information that may contribute to clarifying the case.
