Antonio de Jesús C. C., 40 years old, originally from Mérida, was arrested by elements of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) assigned to the State Investigative Police (PEI) in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

He is probably responsible for setting fire to and killing a female Creole breed canine early last Saturday in the streets of the Xoclán López Portillo neighborhood.

The dog was lying on a chair that was in front of the defendant’s property and he set it on fire.

According to the necropsy carried out by veterinary medical experts from the FGE, the dog suffered burns on 70 percent of its body. The investigating agents and prosecutors, after locating and arresting the man, placed him at the disposal of the control judge who issued the arrest warrant.
