Through a video shared on Facebook, it is possible to see how the man exerts violence against a defenseless young woman.
The aggression of Joan Serra Montagut, a Catalan origin, to the employee of the cafeteria “Café Lavé” in Mérida, reached UNESCO, while the SSP Yucatán continues the investigation into what happened last Tuesday in the Yucatecan capital.
“UNESCO reaffirms its rejection and condemns any type of violence against women. In addition, it implements a zero-tolerance policy against all types of violence, especially gender violence. We clarify that Mr. Joan Serra Montagut is not a UNESCO official,” the agency reported in a statement.

And it is that through a video shared on Facebook, it is possible to see how the Catalan tourist exerts violence against the employee of the cafeteria, threatening to hit her and verbally assaulting her, in addition to the damage caused to the establishment.
The user who shared the video said that it was 6:50 in the morning when the tourist entered the place, even though it was still closed, and demanded that the music be turned down.

The owners of the “Café Lavé” filed their corresponding complaint with the SSP Yucatán, so the case is still under investigation, while the UN spoke out, through its social networks, also clarifying that the accused “is not a UNESCO official,” as was assumed.
