Yucatán was named the Best Tourist Destination in Mexico 2024 in the ninth edition of the Food and Travel Reader Awards 2024, as reported by the state Tourism Development Secretariat (Sefotur).
This prestigious award, which recognizes the best of gastronomy and tourism in the country, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all Yucatecans.
The recognition is granted by Food and Travel México magazine, through an open vote at the national level and based on a list of nominees prepared by a panel of 63 experts from the hospitality industry and the magazine’s Editorial Board. This process guarantees that the award is a reflection of the feelings of travelers and experts in the field.
In addition, Yucatán was highlighted for its cultural richness, its excellent gastronomy, its growing service infrastructure, and its diversity of attractions, which include archaeological zones, haciendas, cenotes, ecotourism centers, and Magic Towns.
This combination of elements makes Yucatán a unique and attractive destination for all types of travelers.
During the Food and Travel Reader Awards 2024 gala, held in Mexico City, the Secretary of Tourism Development, Darío Flota Ocampo, received the award on behalf of the government of Yucatán.
Likewise, Yucatán had an outstanding participation by having three other nominees: the Chablé Yucatán hotel, Ixi’im by Chablé Yucatán and the Traspatio Maya Collective.
