A man was arrested in the main park of Umán after being reported by passersby for scaring them using a clown mask, in addition to allegedly trying to steal from some businesses.
The events occurred during the night of Wednesday, Feb. 26, when people in the main square reported that a young man of around 25 years of age was behind the clock tower scaring pedestrians.
Likewise, merchants reported that the subject allegedly tried to enter their businesses wearing the mask.
After the report, agents of the Municipal Police of Umán arrived on the scene and observed how the subject fled the site running; however, he was caught a couple of blocks away.
Among his belongings was a clown mask, with which he would have scared women and children in the main park.
The subject was interrogated, and he took an aggressive attitude, for which he was transferred to the municipal command for resisting the arrest.
