Change of date for La Noche Blanca 2025

Since its first edition in 2009, La Noche Blanca has established itself as one of Mérida’s most important cultural events.

Twice a year, the streets, plazas, parks, and neighborhoods of the Historic Center become stages where musicians, comedians, and other exponents of local culture offer free shows for locals and tourists.

Although La Noche Blanca typically takes place on fixed dates, there will be a change in 2025: instead of late May, the first edition of the year will take place on June 13 and 14.

The measure was taken so that it would not coincide with the weekend of the state judiciary elections on June 1, according to an announcement by the Mérida City Council’s Directorate of Identity and Culture.

The event is a unique fusion of art, gastronomy, and traditions, with a program that begins in the afternoon and runs past midnight.

Museums, theaters, galleries, and open spaces filled with live performances, including dance, regional comedy, concerts, and more. Attendees can also browse bazaars and shop for handcrafted goods, local cuisine, and unique souvenirs.

One of the highlights of La Noche Blanca is the warmth and participation of the community, which is actively involved in each edition. In addition to local artistic expressions, the event has opened its doors to international performances, enriching the cultural offerings and allowing for an exchange between different traditions.

To ensure the safety and comfort of the public, road closures, extended parking hours, and pet-friendly spaces are implemented, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the celebration without incident.

La Noche Blanca not only brings art to the streets but also strengthens the bond between tourists and the local community, becoming an unforgettable experience that, with each edition, brings surprises. The previous edition of La Noche Blanca took place on November 29th and 30th, where participants were able to enjoy circus art, dance performances, plays, and interdisciplinary shows for children.
