The Yucatán International Reading Fair (FILEY) will celebrate its thirteenth edition from March 22 to 30, 2025 at the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention and Exhibition Center in Mérida.
This annual event has established itself as one of the most outstanding cultural and literary gatherings in southeastern Mexico, offering a wide range of activities for all ages.
FILEY 2025 will feature book presentations, author signings, conferences, workshops, concerts, film screenings, plays, and art exhibitions. Renowned writers, intellectuals, and artists are expected to participate, as well as the installation of special pavilions dedicated to invited states or countries. The main objective of the fair is to foster a love of reading and the arts in the community.
In this edition, the Universidad Veracruzana will be the guest of honor, providing a varied program of activities that will include literary, artistic, and academic presentations, strengthening the cultural and educational ties between the participating institutions.
In addition, FILEY 2025 will pay tribute to indigenous languages, providing a space for dialogue and celebration to highlight the linguistic and cultural richness of Mexico. Round tables, readings, and workshops will be held focused on literature in indigenous languages, promoting its preservation and dissemination.

The 2025 FILEY National Journalism Award will be given to journalist Enrique Mendoza Hernández, in recognition of his 21 years of career dedicated to the dissemination of artistic and cultural work on the northern border of Mexico.
Likewise, the writer Alberto Ruy Sánchez will receive the 2025 José Emilio Pacheco Excellence in Literature Award, for his outstanding contribution to contemporary literature.
FILEY 2025 also invites reading promoters to explore new ways of imagining, through the VII Meeting of Reading Promoters “Imagination beyond forms”, with the purpose of sharing experiences and innovative strategies in the promotion of reading.
