Apparently, the young woman suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.
Ruth Medina, an employee of a café in Mérida who was attacked by a man of Catalan origin, said that she suffers from panic and anxiety because she fears that the subject might come back looking for her again.
A few days ago, the young woman was attacked by a subject identified as Joan Serra Montagut, who entered the cafeteria to demand that she turn down the volume of the music and ended up threatening her, throwing things, and breaking things.
The incident is under investigation, and Cecilia Patrón, mayor of Mérida, said that it is unacceptable: “It is something that we cannot allow as citizens of Mérida to happen, neither from foreigners nor from locals.”
