The Government of Yucatán and Texas A&M University have reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration to promote academic mobility, scientific research, and technological development in the region. As part of this alliance, the establishment of the Risk Institute in the state was announced, to become a center of excellence in technological research and innovation.

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena met with Zenón Medina Cetina, a representative from Texas A&M, who highlighted the importance of continuing to work together to improve educational quality and provide greater opportunities for Yucatecan students.

One of the pillars of this cooperation is strengthening academic mobility, allowing more students from Yucatán to access international experiences and for Texas A&M students to participate in exchange programs in the region.

Díaz Mena emphasized that education and technological innovation are key to attracting talent and generating opportunities in Yucatán. “Our vision is clear: we want to be leaders in science, technology, and innovation, and this is only possible through strategic alliances,” he stated.

The Texas A&M representative emphasized that the institution recognized worldwide for its academic excellence and advanced research, has maintained a strong relationship with the state. Over the past five years, exchange programs have benefited Yucatecan students, allowing them to pursue academic and research internships at Texas A&M.

Furthermore, the exchange of knowledge has occurred in both directions, with American students completing internships at Yucatecan educational institutions, strengthening the academic and cultural ties between the two regions.
