The State Government, through the Secretariat for Tourism Development (SEFOTUR), projects Yucatán internationally by making its presence felt at the Mexican Pavilion at the ITB Berlin 2025 International Tourism Convention, which takes place from March 4 to 6 in the German capital.
Representing the Governor of Yucatán, Joaquín Díaz Mena, the head of Sefotur, Darío Flota Ocampo, has an intense agenda that he has put in place since the inauguration of this important event, meeting with representatives of the embassy, airline executives and companies in the sector, seeking to consolidate new strategic alliances that promote the arrival of international tourists to Yucatán.
The participation of the State Government in this great event is key to strengthening its projection in European and global markets, based on a focus on promoting its vast cultural, natural, and historical wealth, as well as its tourist infrastructure.
Through specialized promotional material and a digital catalog of local tourism providers, the Yucatecan delegation highlights the diversity of experiences that the state offers, from the majestic Mayan archaeological sites, such as Chichén Itzá and Uxmal, to the beauty of its beaches, cenotes, and magical towns.
According to data from the organizers of ITB Berlin, more than 50% of tourists participate in group and semi-independent excursions or small groups with personalized tours, highlighting the increase in interest of German vacationers in cruises due to the wide variety of entertainment, comfort, and visits on land.
With the presence of Yucatan at this important summit, it is sought to position it on the international tourism scene and consolidate its growth as a reference destination in the world, since ITB Berlin 2025 is considered the most important meeting point for the global tourism industry.
With the participation of 5,800 exhibitors from more than 170 countries, under the motto “The World of Travel lives here” this fair is consolidated as the essential forum to chart the course of tourism worldwide.
