(Mérida Yuc. – Megamedia) – An American girl crossed a street in Merida’s downtown and was run over by a driver who failed to hit the brakes in time.
According to the publication of Diario de Yucatan, the incident took place on 53rd street between 66th and 68th. The eight-year-old minor was hit by a Chevrolet Beat car with license plates YXE-298-B.
Paramedics of the State Police assessed the minor, who presented injuries, and was taken to the hospital to rule out any serious injuries.
The driver was detained to determine who was responsible for the accident.
