SSP Yucatan says there is no evidence of organized crime involvement in the case of a man shot in Downtown Merida

Mérida, Yucatán, (December 21, 2021).- The State Investigation Police (PEI) of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) advances in the investigations to clarify the events that occurred on Monday, December 20th, in Downtown Mérida, where a man was wounded by gunshot.

In videos captured by cameras on private properties, provided by the owners to the State Police, it can be seen that the aggressor fired at his victim from the vehicle in which he was riding, just a few seconds after the two were talking.

Based on this evidence, there is no indication that it is an act of organized crime. Local police authorities said that there are other elements of evidence that cannot be made public due to the secrecy of the investigation,

The state authorities reiterate that, as in any criminal act, work will be done until the facts are fully clarified and those responsible captured.
