(MEXICO – CONASAMI) – As of January 1, 2022, the minimum wage will increase 22 percent concerning its current value. This was announced on December 1, 2021, by the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI). Mexico’s Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS Mexico), through its official social media account, shared the news of its entry into force, as follows:
“Free Zone” – (Northern Border of the country).
For its part, the country’s Northern Border Free Zone, which includes 43 municipalities belonging to Baja California Norte, Sonora, Chihuahua, Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, and Coahuila, will receive an increase of almost 46.95 pesos.
Before the increase in 2021, the salary was at $213.39. In 2022, the minimum salary will rise to $260.34, which will increase inflation.
Rest of the country
According to the increase indicated by the board of representatives of the institution, the minimum wage for most areas of the country will go from $141.70 to $172.87 for the rest of the nation. It means an increase of 31.17 pesos more for formal workers.
