Two allegedly criminal acts that occurred in Telchac Pueblo and in Progreso, Yucatán, lit the warning lights about insecurity.
MÉRIDA, Yucatan, (January 7 2022) .- Two allegedly criminal acts that occurred in Telchac Pueblo and in Progreso, Yucatán, set off the red alerts about insecurity due to possible femicide, and a shooting in the port of Progreso.
The death of a young woman in a house in the Santa Rosa de Telchac Pueblo neighborhood is being investigated since her relatives suspect that it is a case of femicide.
The woman’s body was found dead in a property on Calle 25 between 10 and 12 in that neighborhood. His body was hung from a hammock.
When the authorities arrived, they confirmed that she had no vital signs, although family and friends believe that behind his death would be the young woman’s sentimental partner, identified as “Minimí”, who is a fugitive.
In social networks, they urged the authorities to investigate and clarify the facts, considering that it may be another case of femicide.
Men on motorbike shoot down property
Also, in the port of Progreso, two men on a motorcycle fired gunshots at a property and although there were no losses of human life, a dog was killed by the bullets.
Both events occur after an overturned truck was found on the Mérida-Cancún highway, near Valladolid, and inside it was the body of a man who was killed by a gunshot to the head.
Apparently, he was a drug dealer and was originally from Veracruz.
All these events lit the warning lights in Yucatan during this first week of the new year 2022.
In the case of the shooting in Progreso, the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) installed a preventive operation in that port and part of the eastern coast of the State.
Regarding the case of the young woman’s murder, her relatives did not accept the version of the presumed suicide and considered she could be the victim of femicide by her sentimental partner who constantly – they say – gave her mistreatment and frequent beatings.
