Mérida, Yucatán, (January 12, 2022).- Choice Hotels Mexico expressed its interest in entering the city of Mérida and becoming part of a hotel and tourism market that has stood out at the national level, informed the chain’s director, Germán Fernández del Busto.
It foresees that by the third quarter of the year some of its brands would already be operating in one of the independent hotels in the city, the hotel leader estimated.
At a virtual press conference, this Tuesday, he highlighted that Choice Hotels International has 80 years of experience and is the second franchising hotel company in the world with 7,200 properties, of which 40 already operate in our country under the Comfort brands, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, and Ascend Collection.
He also added the interest of the company to enter the local market of the Yucatecan capital; He considered that it has a “very wide hotel offer” and a large proportion of areas for the business traveler, boutiques, farms, mansions that offer one of the best accommodation offers, which are unique and “we want to help them”, he claimed.
He highlighted that its brands are focused on the business traveler, who travels for a couple of nights to carry out an activity in the cities, for example, Ascend Collection allows a hotel owner to access technology, systems, and marketing programs that they offer, but keeping its own brand.
They detailed that they are in talks with hotel owners in Mérida to join forces and compete in better circumstances, that independent venues compete on equal terms with other brands.
Choice Hotels, as highlighted, provides various benefits such as contacting a room reservation center, a national and international partner program, a sales force that serves various corporate accounts, provides constant training, suppliers, authorities that provide rates. and preferential costs for hotel equipment.
For the businessman, the state and its capital have great potential for business and convention tourism, the International Convention Center is one of the best in the republic, it has great tourist attractions, which makes hotel occupancy constant.
“The supply of independent hotels is very large, we believe that there are a good number of businessmen with whom we can talk and bring one of our brands to Merida,” he said.
