Rural Police Chief causes traffic accident in Chetumal, Quintana Roo

Chief of the Rural Police of the state caused an accident while driving presumably under the influence of alcohol.

(CHETUMAL, Q. ROO – SSP), January 24, 2022.- The chief of the Rural Police in Quintana Roo, José Clotilde Cupul Hau would have caused a car accident when he was allegedly driving his Nissan Sentra under the influence of alcohol. The vehicle ended up overturned.

The event was recorded during the early morning hours on Friday, January 21st, on the corner of Nicolás Bravo Avenue and Payo Obispo Street, downtown Chetumal. Agents of the State Police arrived at the scene and detained the official, who was visibly under the influence of alcohol.

According to a preliminary report, Cupul Hau, driving at excessive speed and in an allegedly intoxicated state, ended up impacting his white Nissan Sentra, with UTX-494-G license plates, against a blue Chevrolet S10 truck, TB plates. -2578-H.

Elements of the Transit Police arrived at the site, who secured José Clotilde Cupul Hau and transferred him to the StateAttorney General’s Office for the demarcation of responsibilities, in addition to the fact that, apparently, he was wearing the uniform of the police corporation.
