According to the federal Ministry of Health, in Mexico, there has been a lower incidence of infections in recent weeks
The Federal Government’s Ministry of Health registered three new infections of monkeypox in Yucatan since the last report issued a week ago, accumulating 111 in total.
In the Weekly Technical Report on Epidemiological Surveillance, it was revealed that in Mexico there are 3,145 infections of the virus throughout the country.
In the case of Yucatán, the entity remains in fourth place with the most infections, surpassed by Mexico City with 1,833 infections, Jalisco with 355, and the State of Mexico with 320.
The Peninsula accumulates 229 cases of monkey smallpox, where Quintana Roo and Yucatán are tied, both with 111 infections, while in Campeche a lower incidence is detected with 7 reports.
Likewise, there has been a decrease in cases in recent weeks, going from 162 to only two confirmed cases, and from 263 to 40 probable infections.
Regarding the infections registered in Mexico, 97.5 percent have been detected in men between the ages of 30 and 34, of whom they maintain the same symptoms.
Among the conditions they have presented are skin rashes, fever, headache, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, weakness, and fatigue.
It should be noted that monkeypox is transmitted by direct physical contact with people who are sick or suspected of having the disease.
