Every great thing must come to an end, and this year’s fashion week Mérida is no exception. Yesterday we were able to say goodbye and witness the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week grand finale in Hacienda Misné a beautiful hotel filled with colors, flora and fauna from our beautiful Mérida, today we will tell you all about it!

Cutouts, vibrant colors, crochet textures, checkered prints, futuristic looks and technology all part of ZURCE’s runway. Daniel Herranz a promising new designer who started his brand during the pandemic along with his mother by creating a label from the word zurcir, presented a collection in collaboration with Vivo Latam a smartphones brand, where the spirit of freedom and rebellion left its mark.

Daniel Herranz is part of the 2nd edition of the under-30 talent award for design, architecture, culture and gastronomy. He introduced himself to the world of art and design in 2009 volunteering on the Museo de Arte Moderno. It wasn’t until 2013 where he was asked to create a dummy for a french magazine who was about to arrive to Mexico where he found his passion for fashion.

His project Colectivo Mexicano de Diseño was born from the need to encourage the promotion, consumption and analysis of Mexican fashion. The rapid and exponential growth of Colectivo has taken Daniel to scenarios he never imagined, many of them to understand himself as an entrepreneur. One of his main concerns – and occupations – is education in our country. He currently collaborates with the Boys and Girls of Club America Foundation, with whom he will bring workshops and presentations related to culture to children in different communities.

The last and final show was led by Vero Díaz who returned to her roots at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mérida. Her collection, La postal SS23, featured mosaic-style prints, floral lace and relaxed silhouettes, perfect for a trip to the beautiful Yucatecan beaches.

Originally from Mérida, Yucatán, Vero Díaz began her career in fashion design at CEDIM in Monterrey. She then completed a total of eight intensive fashion courses at PARSONS: The New School for Design in New York City.

Her career as a designer ranges from her double participation in “Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico” to an exhibition of her spring/summer 2016 collection at the “Victoria & Albert Museum” in London; she also won first place in Quién magazine’s “People Choice Awards“.

Currently, the brand that bears his name, has more than 10 years of having ventured into the field of fashion and seeks to preserve and support mainly the talent of the Yucatan Peninsula, implementing embroidery, fabrics and handmade textiles with fine rhinestones finishes.

We say goodbye with some wonderful and unforgettable memories from the last edition of MBFW in Merida, where Mexican talent was celebrated by exploring new worlds, colors, textures and silhouettes. We look forward to the next edition.
