The woman asked for the sanction of the police commander, who was dismissed from the Public Security Department of the port of Progreso, although the mayor, Julián Zacarías Curi, has not wanted to “officialize” the resignation.

Progreso, Yucatan – As we previously posted on The Yucatan Times, a policewoman from this port, Claudia S.A., filed a criminal complaint against police commander Omar Herrera Cocom with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and asked her colleagues not to remain silent in the face of sexual and labor harassment by this police chief.

These police officers also report to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP). The alleged victim filed a formal complaint, which was registered with the Investigation File number S1-G-2/169/2023.
