Just one day after holding meetings about the project in Tulum and Cancun, where he pointed out that there will be a 700-kilometer stretch that will be electric and double track, according to his Twitter account.

On his third day of a private tour of the Mexican southeast to review the progress of the railway project, AMLO was accompanied by Mauricio VIla, with whom he also reviewed the construction of the Gran Parque de La Plancha, the expansion of the Puerto de Altura de Progreso and other works.

“I met with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to supervise the progress of the Tren Maya, the Gran Parque de La Plancha, the expansion of the Puerto de Altura de Progreso and other works with which we are boosting tourism, the economy and jobs for Yucatecan families,” wrote Governor Mauricio Vila on his Twitter account.
Like in his regular visits, AMLO arrived at Air Base No. 8 of the Mexican Air Force, in the south of this city, on Saturday, March 11 at around 6:00 pm and immediately moved to one of the hotels on Calle 60 in the hotel zone where he spent the night, to wake up today, March 12, to supervise the work on the Tren Maya with Mauricio Vila.
