With the participation of 86 entrepreneurs, 6 gastronomic ambassadors, artisans and the most representative of its culture, products and services, Yucatan will be present at the 47th edition of the Tianguis Turístico de México (TTM), the most important exhibition of this industry in Mexico and Latin America to attract more visitors and generate more jobs, which in its 2023 edition will be held in Mexico City from the 26th to the 29th of this year.

As part of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal’s strategy to promote the state as one of the most important destinations in the country, Yucatán’s stand will be the third largest this year, with 648 square meters, where several international players will hold business meetings, such as travel agencies, accommodations, municipalities, associations, agencies, the Congress and Convention Bureau, wholesalers and airlines, among others.

This edition will also feature the Tendejón dynamic, implemented during the 45th version, held in Mérida, whose purpose is to encourage potential partners, publicize the local offer and generate more appointments between buyers and Yucatecan businessmen; they will hand out tickets, which can be exchanged for some of the more than 3,000 products and gifts, such as handicrafts and souvenirs.

There will be guayaberas, blouses and embroidered notebooks, donated by different municipalities; rugs, sisal bags and cup holders; habanero sauces, craft beers and wines, flours and jams, among other gastronomic products, while the business community provided discounts on lodging and tours, and there will be merchandise from the representative sports teams, Venados FC and Leones.

As part of the presence of the territory, different activations of high visual impact will be carried out in strategic locations of the Citibanamex Convention Center, where the negotiations and activities of the TTM will take place, or outdoors, which will aim to show the beauty of the region to the inhabitants of the capital.

The actions include activations with flamingos, “you and me” chairs, photographic scenes of emblematic areas and an immersive space in the shape of a cube, in which the colors of Yucatan will come to life through recorded images, developed and projected in 360-degree format; high-definition screens and reflective materials will be strategically placed inside this piece, which will surround visitors with the various shades of this land.

In addition, the #YucatánEsColor and #YucatánEsSabor campaigns will be present at the fairgrounds and in high-traffic areas, such as the 700-square-meter Gastronomic Zone, with 6 ambassadors: Gerardo Castro Mena, from El Sazón de Valladolid; María Antonia Yam Chi, from Zamná restaurant; Concepción Guadalupe Sánchez Mena, from Xmahaná; María Isabel Sánchez Licona, from El Patio; Pedro Medina Casanova, from Taquería “La Lupita”, and Julio Cortés, representative of Tere Cazola, who will prepare and sell traditional dishes.

This module will be complemented with a local beer tasting bar, by Esmeralda Brewing; talks and workshops to learn how to carve a lek, by artisan Alfredo Poot; about melipona honey, by Begoña Quijano, from Queen Bee Honey, and the Maya cosmovision of sweets, with doña Anselma Chalé Euán, accompanied by María Rosalía Couoh Chalé, from Kuchil KaaB.

Both in this edition and the one held in Mérida, it has been decided to involve inhabitants and visitors through the Tianguis para Todos plan, from March 25 to 27, between 9:00 and 19:00 hours, in 2 locations; one on Paseo de Reforma, with the Mexico City Cultural Festival, where there will be a module with products for sale and an operator for the promotion of tourist packages.

Another point will be the corridor that goes from the Lions Gate of Chapultepec Castle to the Monument to the Niños Héroes, with continuous cultural presentations and the presence of the Trio Trovemia, on Monday the 27th; the opportunity will be used to continue promoting the destination, with tastings of traditional dishes, and brand presence through volumetrics, banners and significant articles.

Yucatan’s activities in this framework will begin this Saturday the 25th, at 103 Michoacán Street, Condesa neighborhood, at 10:00 a.m., with the start of the start of the event: 00, with the start of the Yucatruck, a mobile gastronomic display that will also reach the Soumaya Museum, World Trade Center and the Lincoln, Mexico and Spain Parks, among other strategic sites, until the 28th, handing out cochinita tacos prepared by Medina Casanova, since “La Lupita” has become a favorite among those who have visited Mérida.

The objective of the TTM is to bring the tourist and cultural benefits of each entity closer to the population of Mexico City, while the Government of Yucatan, with actions like these, seeks to make more of the region known, to increase the positioning of the brand, the business possibilities for the firms in the sector and attract more visitors, which translates into economic benefits and better living conditions for the population.
