MÉRIDA, Yucatan – The Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (Uady) registered around 14,500 applicants in its new admission process, of which up to 4,100 students may be admitted to any of the degree programs it offers.
The demand continues to exceed the offer of the maximum house of studies of the entity, so that on average three out of four applicants will see their desire to enter the new school year truncated.
Exani II
A few days after finishing the registration process, the Uady reported that, for those who have successfully completed the first step, the next step is to download the pass to take the National Higher Level Entrance Exam (Exani II), which will be administered on June 17 and 18.
Rector Carlos Alberto Estrada Pinto said that, once the platform closed, just over 14,500 people registered for one of the 47 degree programs offered on-site.
In an interview, he indicated that of the total number of applicants who will take the Exani II, the University will be able to accept between 4,000 and 4,100 students, which is similar to the number they receive at the beginning of each academic year.
No budget
Regarding the possibility of expanding enrollment, he said that the budgetary capacity does not allow it, so in the following courses they will bet on online programs.
“Applicants have to download their entrance pass and prepare for the exam to be applied in June, we have approximately four thousand places in on-site degree programs, that is the maximum capacity; where we have been able to grow is in the virtual programs,” said Estrada Pinto, who said that the Uady is already working on a strategy to create more study programs in virtual mode.
He indicated that in the 2023 income and expenditure budget, the University does not contemplate building more classrooms, as the resources are allocated for maintenance of the current infrastructure.
“This year we are working to finish completing the building of the new Faculty of Accounting and Administration (FCA),” noted the Rector.
It is worth mentioning that, after the applicants submit the Exani II, the publication of results will be made on June 30, through the platform www. ingreso.uady.mx/licenciatura; and from June 3 to 21 the registration for those admitted will take place, in the corresponding faculties.
