MÉRIDA, Yucatan – The Government of the State of Yucatan will make some road closures in Merida starting at 10:00 p.m. this Monday, April 3, related to the construction of the Ie-Tram.
The works will be carried out mostly during the night so that the inconveniences and affectations will be the least possible.
The intersections where vehicular traffic will be restricted will be at 39th and 36th Streets in the Jesús Carranza neighborhood, and 39th Street by 28th Street in the Máximo Ancona neighborhood.
The intersections where vehicular traffic will be restricted will be at 39th and 36th Streets in the Jesús Carranza neighborhood, and 39th Street by 28th Street in the Máximo Ancona neighborhood.
The intersections will remain closed for an indefinite period of time; for this reason, the necessary measures are being taken to minimize the impact on users, placing the necessary signage to indicate alternate routes.
It is recommended that users who travel in vehicles consult the Google Maps and Waze applications before leaving for their destination, even when they know the route to where they are going.
Road changes
Thus, drivers of vehicles traveling from north to south on 36th and 28th Streets will not be able to cross the intersection of 39th Street and must turn left, in the case of 36th Street, and right for those coming on 28th Street, on that same road to go east to 30th Street, where they must turn right to 41st Street if they wish to go south or, if they wish to continue east, they may do so on 39th Street-A.
Alternate routes will be properly signaled, so people are asked to be aware of the changes.
The intersections of 39 by 20-A in Colonia Mayapán, in front of the Nachi Cocom plant of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and 39 by 4 in the Mayapán subdivision will also be closed for asphalt concrete placement works, although in these sections there will be no new traffic disruptions, as the works will be carried out during the night.
Benefits of the Ie-Tram
It is important to remember that the Ie-Tram project will offer Yucatecans an efficient, modern, and safe mobility option, connecting more than 100 public transportation routes and more than 137 neighborhoods in the metropolitan area, linking Merida, Kanasin, and Uman.
Ie-Tram will be the only public transportation system in Latin America and it will be 100% electric.
