Man injures woman with scissors on the Progreso boardwalk

A man was arrested during Tuesday afternoon after injuring his alleged partner in the area of the Progreso boardwalk, whom he later attempted to stab in the neck with scissors.

The incident occurred during Tuesday afternoon when the two individuals were drinking alcohol on the boardwalk, where they began to argue.

At that moment, the man injured the woman with scissors, whom he later attempted to harm in the neck with them, so he was detained by witnesses.

Those present notified the authorities, who went to the site to apprehend the man, who was taken to the municipal jail.

The injured woman was evaluated by paramedics, who transported her to a hospital in the port, where her health condition is unknown.
