It was reported that a Ministerial Agent of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (FGR) in Yucatan allegedly assaulted a citizen and fired his weapon while under the influence of alcohol.
According to what could be determined, on Friday night, a Federal Ministerial police officer assigned to the FGR’s Criminal Investigation Agency and three other colleagues arrived at the scene in a Versa vehicle with sirens, belonging to the FGR.
Upon arrival, they got out of the vehicle and began to argue with a neighbor, whom they beat. However, they did not expect the residents of the neighborhood to come to the neighbor’s defense, so the aforementioned agent pulled out his firearm and fired it five times, allegedly to intimidate the neighbors.
The frightened neighbors ran and requested support from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP). Police officers arrived at the scene, who initially greeted the aggressor.
It should be noted that upon seeing the neighbors’ discontent, the police officers decided to distance themselves from the alleged aggressor, cordon off the area, and wait for the personnel of the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) to arrive.
At the time of this report, it is unknown whether the ministerial agent was arrested, and no security authority, such as the SSP, FGE, or FGR, has commented on the matter. Therefore, residents of southern Merida demand punishment for the FGR ministerial agent who assaulted a man.
