What seemed like moments of fun almost ended in tragedy when three minors were injured after a mechanical ride they were on collapsed.

The incident took place on Friday afternoon at the ‘La Isla’ Mérida shopping center in northern Mérida, while the three minors were enjoying the mechanical attraction.

Initial reports indicate that the ride collapsed, resulting in injuries to the three minors, prompting the intervention of authorities.

Paramedics from the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) arrived at the scene and assessed the children, determining that they did not require hospital transfer as they only suffered minor injuries.

In light of this incident, parents expressed concern and hope that authorities such as Civil Protection in Mérida will take action.

Visitors to the shopping center also mentioned that these rides are rarely used and should receive regular maintenance to prevent such accidents.

Similarly, on social media, users like Isaac Securisk questioned who is responsible for managing the mechanical rides and pointed out a similar incident in Monterrey that had fatal consequences, leaving a man quadriplegic. They expressed that the minors were lucky to have suffered only minor injuries.
