During the morning pres conference of this Thursday, May 18th, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, revealed that a judge ordered the release of Héctor “El Güero” Palma, former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, within three hours.
“Do you know what happened yesterday? A judge, something never seen before, gave the instruction to the person in charge of a prison that in three hours, look, not even 24 hours anymore, in three hours he would release “Güero” Palma. That is the Power Judicial,” he criticized.
When questioned about this possibility, AMLO said that Palma will not be released, since the Prosecutor’s Office was immediately notified, which made an investigation and found other accusations for which the drug trafficker will remain in the Altiplano prison.
On Wednesday, May 17th. a judge from the Mexican state of Guerrero ordered a release order in favor of Palma due to the prescription of the crime of qualified homicide.
