After the accident involving a Va y Ven bus from the Circuito Metropolitano route in Mérida was reported, a video of what actually happened has been circulating on social media.
As you may recall, the incident occurred in front of the Gran Plaza in Mérida when the driver of the Circuito Metropolitano bus was at the bus stop.
Upon disembarking at the Va y Ven bus stop, the driver was inspecting his vehicle when apparently he forgot to apply the handbrake to the bus, which started moving until it mounted the median divider.
The brakeless Va y Ven bus crashed into the bus stop on the opposite side of the road on Calle 75 in the Montes de Ame neighborhood, knocking down a public telephone.

The video shows the bus driver attempting to stop the bus on his own, but eventually giving up as the Va y Ven bus ended up in the opposite lane.
Although no injuries were reported in the dramatic accident, the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública (SSP) was notified for the necessary proceedings.
