This week The Yucatan Times took a strong step forward in enhancing its regional coverage and readership by hosting a special launch event for a special Campeche print edition.
Hosted at Nohol – a beautiful old colonial house in Campeche’s historic neighborhoods – the launch featured local business and civic leaders, as well as students interested in hearing about the development Campeche is likely to see over the next few years.
“Campeche is undoubtedly one of Mexico’s most beautiful cities, and has amazing potential,” says Yucatan Times Editor José E. Urioste. “We are so happy to be actively developing our relationships and coverage here. In my opinion, Campeche stands apart in being a stunning, human-scale, safe city. Now is its time, and we plan to be here to chart this phase of its life.”
Local business owner Salib Alfaro – of Alfaro Real Estate – agrees: “Campeche has historically gone its way, and has been on the edges of the Yucatan’s and specifically Merida’s development, but now people are waking up to its possibilities, in particular those of its UNESCO World Heritage Center.”
Given its incredible qualities, it’s no surprise that national and international visitors and investors are recognizing Campeche’s innate worth, with a unique walled historic center, the longest pedestrianized seafront in Mexico, and a size and scale that makes almost everything accessible on foot, bicycle or short car ride.
