The transformation of mobility in Yucatán is globally recognized thanks to the public transport system “Va y Ven” promoted by Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal. It has become the first Mexican project of its kind to be a finalist at the World Public Transport Summit of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), ranking among the top 3 in the world and the most relevant in all of Latin America.
In Barcelona, on behalf of the people of Yucatán, Vila Dosal received this distinction as one of the best practices from Pere Calvet, Honorary President of UITP worldwide. This achievement establishes the state as a benchmark in intelligent, modern, and sustainable mobility, ensuring that the people of Yucatán have a public service that meets their deserving standards.
In addition to receiving the award, Governor Vila Dosal met with Pere Calvet, Honorary President of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), to discuss strategies for strengthening the “Va y Ven” Transport System for the benefit of all Yucatecan families. They also discussed the challenges and solutions to promote better public transportation in Yucatán, as part of the efforts made by the Governor to continually improve this service and provide Yucatecans with one of the best public transport systems in the world.
To continue bringing strategies that contribute to the ongoing transformation of public transportation for the benefit of the people of Yucatán, Vila Dosal also met with Dionisio González, Global Director, and Luisa Bonilla, Director for Mexico and Latin America of UITP. They exchanged actions and experiences to further enhance mobility.
