More than two thousand tourists arrived on Saturday at the port of Progreso aboard the luxury cruise ship Serenade of the Seas, belonging to the Royal Caribbean International cruise line.

This is the first time that this cruise ship has arrived in Yucatan territory, as part of the tourism promotion led by Governor Mauricio Vila.

The Serenade of the Seas is a Radiance-class cruise ship with over a thousand cabins, and it arrived in Progreso at approximately 7:00 a.m.

On board this luxury cruise ship, there are 2,516 passengers and 847 crew members. It started its journey at the port of Tampa in Florida, United States.

During its four-day itinerary, which included a visit to Progreso, the ship plans to stay in Yucatan territory for 10 hours before departing back to the neighboring country to the North at 5:00 p.m.
