Around eight Yucatecan companies are successfully participating in the 79th edition of Intermoda, which is taking place in the city of Guadalajara. Intermoda is the most important international platform in Latin America’s fashion industry.

The event, which began last Tuesday in Guadalajara and will run until July 21st, features 600 exhibitors in 1,400 stands, with an expected attendance of over 23,000 buyers from 12 countries.

Teresa Espinosa Atoche, the Director of Commerce at the Ministry of Economic Development and Labor (Sefoet), explained that the participation in this exhibition provides Yucatecan companies with the opportunity to hold business meetings with competitive companies, both at the national and international levels.

One of the highlighted products from Yucatán is the guayabera, which has gained popularity in international markets, particularly in warm climate countries with beaches. The garment has become a reference for innovative traditional clothing and has inspired the creation of other designs of shirts, blouses, and dresses.

Among the Yucatecan brands representing the region at Intermoda are Chatre, Mi guayabera, Voga Yucatán, Betha Swimwear, Ignacio Marrufo, Hetaren Guayaberas, Bere González, Fusión, Creaciones Tony, Ábito, and Vero Díaz, offering a wide variety of clothing items, from guayaberas and dresses to swimwear, bags, wallets, and jewelry.

The event has not only strengthened the presence of Yucatecan companies in the market but also allowed participants to expand their knowledge and stay at the forefront of the industry.
