The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) through its Investigation and Litigation Unit with the support of elements of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP), carried out a ministerial seizure in the municipality of Ixil.
The police had to assist the staff of the Prosecutor’s Office in the Kansahocop farm, attached to San Bernabé, and at the Chunup rustic farm, attached to Xculix.
More than 100 people arrived with stones and sharp objects to obstruct the aforementioned legal procedure, arguing that the lands in question belong to the Ejido.
The mayor of Ixil, Sandra Pech Chi, was present during the and was informed by FGE personnel, with documents, of the legality of the diligence, after which she withdrew.

A subject who was among the rioters accelerated his motorcycle and projected the vehicle against the police, while the other protesters threw stones at them.
Three police officers were injured in that attack; the motorcyclist was struck when skidding. All were attended by SSP paramedics. Shotgun detonations were heard from nearby properties.
The police officers contained the attacks and remained on the spot to safeguard the physical integrity of the population.
During the scuffle in which Ixil inhabitants prevented a ministerial proceeding, one of the dissatisfied decided to throw his motorcycle into the group of police officers that tried to contain the attacks.
In a video circulating on social networks, it can be seen how a subject stops his motorcycle in neutral, locks up speed and accelerates a little over 5 meters to collide with the police officers who were guarding the ministerial proceeding, at the same time that the rijosos begin to throw stones at him.
When seeing the result of the impact, the voice of a female person who shouts “don’t leave it” is heard; “Don’t leave him”, while a racket was being put together in which he insured himself, there were also shots fired on the roofs of the surrounding houses.
The “Maya Kamikaze” was injured when he fell from the motorcycle. According to the informative part of the SSP, both the agents and the aggressor were treated by paramedics from the corporation.
