During the early hours of this Friday, Hurricane Hilary intensified to a Category 4, as reported by the National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC).

In its 6-hour report, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) also added on social media that it is located 640 kilometers (km) south of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.

Meanwhile, Tropical Wave 23 over the Tehuantepec Isthmus and an area of low pressure from the west of Campeche to the northeast of Chiapas will produce very heavy rainfall in Oaxaca and heavy rainfall in Chiapas, Tabasco, and Veracruz, all accompanied by electrical discharges and strong wind gusts in the Tehuantepec region.

Another area of low pressure in the interior of the country, combined with upper atmospheric instability and the influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, will cause very heavy rainfall in Guanajuato and states in the western Mesa del Norte. There will also be heavy rainfall and showers accompanied by electrical discharges, gusts of wind, and possible hail in the northeast, east, and central regions of the country, including the Valley of Mexico.

The influx of humid air from the Caribbean Sea will bring showers with possible electrical discharges to the Yucatán Peninsula. The Mexican monsoon will cause intense localized rainfall in Sonora and very heavy localized rainfall in Chihuahua, accompanied by electrical discharges, wind gusts, and possible hail.

And the warm to hot evening atmosphere will continue over most of the states in the country, becoming very hot in parts of the northwest, north, and northeast of the Mexican Republic, and extremely hot, with maximum temperatures exceeding 45°C, in the northwest of Baja California.
