Sailfish killed by jet skis in Progreso

A 6.5 feet long specimen of sailfish died after being hit by a two jet skis while they were cruising in the sea at Chuburná beach, in Progreso.

Fishermen in the area saw that the animal hurt up on the beach and tried to help it return to the sea, but unfortunately, the fish could not survive.

According to the fishermen, witnesses of the incident, three jet skis crossed that area, but it was two of them that hit the specimen.

The people who were on the beach shouted angrily at the jet ski drivers, but they fled. According to the fishermen, recreational craft have collided with fishing boats. In addition, they demanded more vigilance from the ecological police of Progreso.

The Sailfish was buried on the same beach.
