A dog killer will be in jail two months until the sentence

A local judge gave a period of two months to close the complementary investigation against J.C.P.E., who is accused of killling a dog by beheading it in the Chuburná, Mérida last August 12.

The man is now into the process for the crime of mistreatment or cruelty against domestic animals. The authority mandated that the man remain behind bars throughout the process and until he gets the sentence.

Many animal protection organizations considered that it was a danger to keep this man on the streets because what he did with his dog named “Rufo”.

As we reported on a previous story, residents of Chuburná reported that J.C.P.E. had committed that terrible act against the dog, so they called the police.

After the case went viral on social media, the authorities represented by the Animal Abuse Specialized Unit investigated the case and confirmed the accusation.

Also, they arrested the aggressor and took him before the Judge, who charged him with the crime later. Last Friday, the man he was linked to the process. The investigation must finished in two months. In the meantime, the man must remain in jail.
