Undoubtedly, the times when people annihilated the opossums they found in their backyards are long gone, and now they protect them.

This was evident when a family from of Progreso discovered 10 of these little animals on the backyard of their house, on 23rd street between 76th and 78th, and requested the support of the Ecological Police.

Agents arrived and confirmed the presence of the marsupials. There were five adults and five pups that were rescued and taken to the so-called Ground Zero where they were released in their natural habitat.

The authorities ask the general population in Progreso that if they discover possums or other wild animals on their properties, ask for support and not harm them.
