The Campeche XXI Convention Center, the current venue for Governor Layda Sansores San Román’s “Martes del Jaguar” events, will be the location where Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the President of Mexico, will deliver his Fifth Government Report, as he announced a couple of months ago. He will also conduct the first test of the Maya Train, which will first go to Hacienda Teyá in Yucatán and then to Tulum in Quintana Roo.

Furthermore, according to information from the state government, there is interest from the President of Mexico in making a technical stop at the Hecelchakán station, where a Traveler Assistance Center (CAV) will be built, and where they recently discovered an invaluable treasure related to Maya culture—a plate with representations of agricultural and monetary activities from the area.

The event is expected to have invited governors such as Mara Lezama from Quintana Roo and Mauricio Vila Dosal from Yucatán, who will accompany the President during the Maya Train test. Other governors and federal cabinet officials, such as the Minister of the Interior, María Luisa Alcalde, and the Minister of Public Education (SEP), Leticia Ramírez Amaya, who has been in Campeche for a couple of days, are also expected to attend.

President López Obrador’s arrival is expected early tomorrow morning, and he will go directly to the venue for the report. The event is expected to last for one and a half to two hours. Afterward, the President and some of his guests will move to the Maya Train station in the city, located on the Pablo García y Montilla peripheral road.

There, the President will give another speech, and then they will board one of the tourist wagon prototypes, which will take the group to Hacienda Teyá in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, and later they will use the same transport to go to Quintana Roo for another official event.

This is the expected official presidential protocol for this weekend when the President will use his stay on the Yucatán Peninsula to reaffirm his commitment to the economic and social development of the southeastern region of Mexico.
