Marcelo Luis Ebrard Casaubón is a Mexican politician who served as Secretary of Foreign Affairs until 2023. Affiliated with the National Regeneration Movement since 2018, he was appointed to lead the foreign ministry by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on 1 December 2018.

He was one of the famous “Corcholatas” that were contending to become the presidential candidate for Morena, Loepz Obrador’s political party. But as we all know, he lost against Claudia Sheinbaum and there were rumors that he might go for an “Independent canddidacy”, but on his social networks, he has announced that we will not move away from Morena.

Even Lopez Obrador said during one of his “mañaneras” that Ebrard could be leaving for another political party, but apparently, that is false.

Ebrard said that on Monday, September 11th, he will define his future.

Marcelo Ebrard ruled out having as his objective an independent candidacy for the presidency of Mexico, as he said that it is not the way to contribute to the future of the country.

He reported that this Monday he will meet with his colleagues from all over Mexico to define the future.
