One dead and three missing persons was the result of a boat accident in Cancun’s hotel zone.
It was around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10th, when a call to the 911 emergency number reported the unfortunate incident behind the facilities of the “Aquaworld” marina, at kilometer 13.
Following the report, elements of Civil Protection and the Heroic Fire Department went to the site along with a private ambulance. For their part, the police arrived to pack the body and remove it from the dock of the marina, while elements of the ministerial police were in charge of carrying out the corresponding investigations.
According to preliminary information, a group of tourists hired a water tour to take a ride on the Nichupté lagoon, but their boat collided with a fixed object; however, it was not specified if it was another boat or a pole that is installed in the lagoon system.
No further information on the three missing persons is known at this time.
